1 Million Hugs from Heineken for 1 Million Likes on Facebook

Feb 23, 2011

Heineken - One Million Hugs
Heineken beer sent a team of Heineken Huggers (a group of Dutch female models) out to the bars in Amsterdam to hug male lager drinkers and say "thank you" to Facebook fans for getting Heineken to one million "Likes".

The viral film, created by AKQA agency, titled 'One Million Hugs' shows how guys in Amsterdam are hugged by Heineken girls and the clip ends with the line "Thanks a million".

Floris Cobelens, manager of global digital media at Heineken, said: "While no one can claim today they are mastering the digital revolution, we at Heineken are ahead of the pack, behind a very steep learning curve, and a full-hearted commitment to capitalize on the opportunities new media offer."

In our view, yes we understand that the most beer drinkers are men, but if it is celebrating 1.000.000 “like” on Facebook they really could send out some guys as well to hug the ladies…We are sure, that not all the million have balls, who clicked on Heineken beer facebook fan-page..

Australian “Boag’s Draught“ Beer Commercial - From The Pure Waters Of Tasmania (HD Video)

Feb 18, 2011

Fantastic Ad for James Boags Draft, created by Publicis Mojo, Sydney “From The Pure Waters Of Tasmania” demonstrating how Tasmanian waters “make things better”.

Boag’s Draught - From The Pure Waters Of Tasmania
Gold Lion at Cannes winner introduce us to the transforming powers of the Tasmanian water. An old narrator, played by John Flaus, holds a ukelele, then guitar then balalaika, telling the imaginative story of how the pure waters of Tasmania are special, and have the power to make things better.

It's extremely good campaign and makes wonderfully creative use of the inherent benefit of being a Tasmanian beer. Tasmania's reputation for having pure water and a clean environment is well understood by all. The positioning is spot on and perfect for any beer, but especially a beer from Tasmania.

Boag’s Draught - From The Pure Waters Of Tasmania

These pure waters are special, something goes in there, comes out different. But in a good way. Don't know why, suppose it's always been that way. Sure things don't always turn out the way you expect, but nobody's complaining. Because this water just... Makes things better.

Irish Carlsberg Commercial: The Secret

Dec 7, 2009

Newest Irish spot for Carlsberg takes us back in 1883, when Professor Emil Chr. Hansen discovered the method of isolating pure yeast culture. The resulting yeast was called saccharoymces carslbergensis - the secret of Carlsberg’s brewing success. First to isolate pure yeast, and with a discovery that would revolutionise the brewing industry, Carlsberg didn’t keep its findings to itself but rather shared its knowledge with other master brewers. It still forms the basis of all lager brewing today!

And why give it away? Because Carlsberg knew that the original could not be beaten.

"This is an epic dramatisation of a true story, which gives consumers another reason to believe why Carlsberg is probably the best lager in the world!" – said Justine Donohoe, Carlsberg Marketing Manager.

The commercial was developed by Owens DDB advertising agency and directed by Johnny Green. It was produced by Knucklehead and post produced by Framestore. The music for the ad was specially composed by Paul Raeburn.
